Mary Jane Blige born in 1971 is an American singer, actress, model, producer and songwriter. She started as a background singer and then continued singing on her own. During her career she has released 12 studio albums and appeared on 150 other different albums and soundtracks. The Queen of Hip Hop Soul has won 9 Grammy Awards, in addition to receiving a record of thirty Grammy nominations. Eight of her albums reached multi-platinum status.
